Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. She is most famous for her role as Emily Fields in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars. She took acting classes in Toronto after achieving great results in dance and modeling. Mitchell landed several commercials and played guest roles in TV series before landing her first major part in the role of Emily Fields. The critics as well as her fans were impressed with her acting. The actress went on to be a star in the world of cinema with films like the DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. The actress starred in the psychological thriller series 'You,it garnered more attention. Apart from acting, Shay Mitchell also dabbled in writing. With Michaela Blaney she wrote an adult novel titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April 1987. Her mother was born in the Philippines whereas her father had Irish and Scottish ancestry. Mitchell is also the cousin to Lea Salonga, a famed musical theater actress and singer. Growing up, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary after which she transferred to West Vancouver Secondary School. By her late teenage years, she had modeled for a variety of companies across the globe. The model traveled to Barcelona as well as Bangkok before returning to Toronto to study acting.
