Her early successes in the arts of performing, and which we now know to be Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to the "child prodigy" category. For a young Irish girl with talented parents and extended families, these characteristics were a natural. Maureen made her entrance into the sanctity of family on the 17th of August 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was a skilled contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and also owned part of the renowned Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons' was the second FitzSimons kid. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen loved playing rough athletic games as a child and was a pro in athletics. Additionally she was gifted acting. This was apparent that she was the winner of each Feis for drama and theater that Ireland had to provide. When she turned 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and allowed her to live out her passion for classical theatre as well as singing opera.
