The actress Luciana Paluzzi was one of many voluptuous Italian brunettes who were destined for international stardom in the wake of Gina Lollobrigida. After appearing on both sides of the Atlantic throughout the 1950s for films such as Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958), Luciana Paluzzi had a shot at American TV fame in the role as Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. She met with Bond producers in the year 1965 to talk about whether she could be considered as the lead girl Domino Derval for Thunderball. Terence Young, the director was willing to offer Fiona Volpe the role as the villain.
